Game 117 - vs. Sanchos
(42-41)
In a hard fought game against the Sanchos, champions of the just-completed summer league, the Os pulled out a historic victory. For the first time ever, the Os moved to a record of 2-0. It was the third time the Os had won 2 games in a row and only the second time they had achieved that within one season.
It was a back and forth battle, much like the summer league meeting between the two had been. The Os fell behind, but managed a big rally behind solid defense and some clutch free throw shooting by Steve-O, Mr. Avocado, and And None. Much like they had in the previous meeting, the Os had the ball with seconds left to go and went to the bench to draw up a play. Roster Guard took the ball from the top of the key with 3 seconds to go and drove down the lane. He threw up a high floater which was just out of reach of the Sancho defender. The ball found the bottom of the basket, and the Os found their unblemished record intact.
The obvious Ophy winner was Roster Guard with his buzzer beating shot. However, solid games were had all around by the Os, with all Os scoring, and a team shooting percentage of 25% on 3-pointers.
