Game 104 - vs. Boondocks
(35-34)
The Os broke a two game losing streak with a tense overtime win against Boondocks. Although the stats show that this was only the Os second win in 6 tries in Overtime games, the stat database master is suspicious that the overtime games may be under tallied. Oh well.
Regardless, it was a fantastic game against Boondocks. The Os were working like a well-oiled machine. Solid play through the first half led the Os to a seemingly insurmountable 19-10 lead.
Somehow, the Os hit one of their trademarked slumps and let Boondocks creep back into the game. Slowly Boondocks hit several shots, leaving them with a chance to pull out the win. Some clutch plays by The Neil/Shaq O’Neil/Roster Guard and two Iceman style free throws by Duggo gave the Os a chance. The Boondocks missed a chance to win the game, sending in into a thrilling overtime. In a tense overtime period, the Os pulled it out 35-34, although Boondocks still had several shots before the buzzer to try to win.
It was only the clutch plays of Duggo and The Neil/Shaq O’Neil/Roster Guard that left the Ophy in doubt. When the votes were in, Steve-O was far-and-away the winner for his career high, and 3rd best game in the history of the Os with 16 rebounds (with the stat girls remarking that they “probably missed some”).
