Hypothesis: An
assumption for this experiment is that the rate of memorization is equal
for all persons. A factor that will be studied in later experiments. However,
for this experiment, because it is observational in nature, no hypothesis
is conjectured.
Equipment: For
this experiment a basic word association test will be necessary. (i.e.
word/definition). used in this experiment was a test of 60 questions involving
scientific and common names of plants. Pen and Calculator optional.
Procedure: The
first step is to take the test and record the score. Repeat the test and
record the score 5 or 6 more times. Find the percentage for each test and
plot against time. Observe results.

Conclusion: The
observations of this experiment hold many implications on how to budget
time for test. For example, if the next test holds 30 terms to be memorized,
then the student should study those terms for 178 mins, or almost 3 hours.
Still, it should be noted that it is very likely that the rate varies from
person to person, however, the fact remains, that for everyone, memorization
is a time consuming pain in the neck.
