Official Explanation of the Sea Monkey Plague of 98' On July 6th, 1998, the chilling discovery of the death of the last remained Sea Monkey occurred. Time of death is determined to be sometime late in the night of July 5th. Steen's death marked the end of what was a teeming population of sea monkeys -- until disaster struck. The population first got off to a rocky start on June 22nd, when it was discovered that the much required "sea monkey water purifier" was not included in the starter pack, instead "sea monkey sea crystals" were found in their place. Unable to wait for the correct solution, the process continued, where salt and fish tank chlorinizer were used in place. To the surprise of the owners, the first signs of life were found on June the 26th. By July 2nd, the population reached a new high of 15 grown adults. But signs of gloom were present even then, as the environment slowly changed to a murky green color. On July 4th, During a routine cleaning, it was discovered that all but 3 sea monkeys were dead, cause of death uncertain. An investigation took place as to the cause; rate of feeding, time spent between water aeration, even the possibility of sea monkey mass murder was looked into. Though no conclusion turned up, it was most likely that the monkeys were killed by poor water quality, of which nothing could be done for the survivors except to watch their slow demise. It was apparent that the use of some other method of purifying the environment for the sea monkeys was not completely efficient in eliminating pathogens from the water. It was only a matter of time before the bacteria and algae's could accumulate (probably helped by excess sea monkey food) to a level unsafe for sea monkey life. Currently the owner awaits a new pack of sea monkey water purifier and sea monkey instant life as guaranteed in the limited group sea monkey life insurance policy he had taken out on his sea monkeys. In addition he hopes to have an additional pack of sea monkey water purifier that was not included in his original purchase. Sincerely, Ken Seldeen http://members.xoom.com/sciameriken
